Janusz Prusinowski Kompania
ALEX MANDRILA

The Janusz Prusinowski Kompania is a musical ensemble playing traditional polish folk music, revived from Polish villages and those of neighboring countries, and shaped by their own musical improvisation. The group came to Ann Arbor as part of a residency through U of M’s Center for World Performance Studies, whose program brings into focus underrepresented expressive arts from around the world. The group taught workshops during school of music, theater and dance courses, exposing students to traditional dance accompanied by folk music, and performed to large audiences on two occasions – at UMMA’s Stern Auditorium and Rackham Auditorium.
