Open Book Workshop

The Open Book Workshop is an experimental bookmaking workshop at the Jean Noble Parsons Center for the Study of Art and Science. The project is comprised of an exhibition, a workshop, a journal, and a book.

"Loosely defining the book as an object that organizes or arranges written, verbal, or visual content into sections—such as pages, chapters, or signatures—The Open Book Project seeks to encourage exploration of the unconventional forms “books” might take, to challenge notions of what books can be, and to promote further discussion about the culture, legacy and future of books."

This commission included documentation of exhibition and workshop activities, following students and visiting artists as they worked on design projects at the Parsons Center in Lake Ann, Michigan.
